When Jimmy Simpson, founder of Num-Ti-Jah Lodge, first came upon Bow Lake in 1898 he described it as one of the most beautiful places he’d ever seen. For more than a century, thousands of guests, visitors and artists have agreed with his words.
Num-Ti-Jah Lodge overlooks one of the most dramatic scenes in the Canadian Rockies. Out of Bow Lake the mountains rise, steep and rugged. The blue ice of Crowfoot Glacier hangs suspended over the turquoise waters. To the west, the craggy peaks of the Continental Divide tower over the immense Bow Glacier.
A legend of Canadian Rocky Mountain hospitality awaits you, in an atmosphere of secluded tranquility on the shores of beautiful Bow Lake near Lake Louise, Alberta. Steeped in heritage, our majestic log lodge invites those seeking a relaxed, extraordinary alpine wedding experience.
We are delighted that you have considered us to host your special day. Our Wedding Information Booklet will provide you with all the information you need to plan a Rocky Mountain wedding at Num-Ti-Jah Lodge.
Because of our remote but easily accessible location we are ideally suited for small groups (20 - 50 people) who desire an intimate venue for private gatherings. We have few distractions -- just the great outdoors! We have no TV, phones or radios in the rooms. We do have a phone and fax available in the office if needed. We also have a cafe, lounge, restaurant and sitting area.
Personal and Artistic Retreats
Bow Lake is a place that has always attracted artists. The clear light and sharp peaks have inspired many. Carl Rungius was a regular visitor to the Lodge in the earlier days, encouraging Jimmy to try his own hand with the brush. In our lounge, our rooms, and in front of the Lodge there is often an artist at work. The lodge itself is adorned with the passions played out by the hands of the many artists who have found inspiration on the shores of the lake and through the beauty of the mountain peaks just outside our doors.
The same inspiration that the visual artist finds here is also at work for the photographer, writer, poet or individual who is looking for peace and light in a natural setting.
Should you be interested in hosting a retreat or program at the lodge, please contact us for more information.
